Marsha Sanger's Letter: #53

ALL Classmates of the Class of 1960 Lodi Union High School

It’s time to gather for our Class of ’60 Picnic at Lodi Lake. However, this will be the third time, and hopefully the last time, that we’ll have to cancel due to the unforeseen situation at hand.

After the #53 postponed picnic update that I sent out on 5/24/20, I received many responses from our wonderful classmates and I’ll include their names in this update. I heard back from: Bill Belforte, Judy Bouska, Diane Brusch, Cherie Flower, Claire Fujita, Marjorie Garrison, Larry Leno, Marcie Lowe, Stan Melcher, Maxine Schaffer, Donna Schumacher, and Lynette Walther. (maybe others, but that’s all that I wrote down)

Let’s tentatively plan to gather for our picnic at Lodi Lake on the last Friday in July, which will be July 31, if “Orders From Headquarters” give us permission. We’ll bring our own chairs and sit in a circle, six feet apart, and go from there.

It has been decided to cancel this year’s 60th reunion on August 22, because of the situation that we’re all facing and having to live with each day. It doesn’t seem to get better, and here in Lodi, is getting worse. Our hospital is now closed to all except to those with Covid 19. Scary stuff! The tentative new date will be Sept. 25, 2021. Mavis will have the letter on its way soon.

The memory in my computer is maxing out, so rather than attach obituaries of four of our classmates, I’ll just give the names and you can go online to LodiNewsObituaries for:

Melvin Barosso, 5/4/20,

Elva Huggins 5/16/20,

and

David Hildenbrand 5/31/20,

Gary Stewart 11/11/2019 NY, NY.

Rest in peace dear friends and classmates. We shall miss you.

Sending all positive energy and thoughts your way and I can’t wait to get out of “jail”.

PLEASE BE WELL AND SAFE!

TTFN Marsha

PS......I’m going to add this to those of you who live locally, I’m looking for a clean, mold-free home to rent “in the area” with hardwood or tile floors in the kitchen & living area. Pretty tall order, but maybe someone will know someone who knows someone.

Time to get this on its way, so here’s hoping that you’re ALL following the guidelines and enjoying good health, and hopefully we’ll all get through this ordeal without major incident.
